S2545: senate Bill for LGBTQ Nursing Home Bill of Rights.  Establishes certain requirements concerning rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, undesignated/non-binary, questioning, queer, intersex, and HIV-positive residents of long-term care facilities. Sponsors: Dick Codey (D),  Vin Gopal (D),  Troy Singleton (D)

A1060:  requires state agencies to update their data collection forms and systems to include questions about sexual orientation and gender identity.  We can't get appropriate resources, programs and funding unless we are counted as LGBTQ, it's that simple.  The bill is sponsored by Joann Downey, Mila Jasey and Andrew Zwicker

A680:  LGBTQ nursing home bill of rights.  This bill outlines how LGBTQI residents in nursing home/assisted living facilities need to be treated by staff and medical professionals, including usage of proper pronouns.  The bill is sponsored by Joann Downey, Valerie Vainieri-Huttle, Mila Jasey, Dan Benson, Clinton Calabrese , Tom Giblin, John McKeon, Carol Murphy, Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, and Cleopatra Tucker

A2769: this bill designates New Jersey's transgender population as a targeted workforce development group. This bill requires a member of the State Employment and Training Commission to specialize in serving transgender communities. This is a huge step in equalizing the gap felt by our transgender community when seeking employment. It was worked on by an LD11 constituent, and introduced by Joann Downey. Great example of the impact our voices can have when we communicate with our legislators.

S1785: This bill establishes the nine-member New Jersey Task Force on Health Care Services for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and Intersex Persons in the Department of Health (DOH). The purpose of the task force would be to develop and issue recommendations concerning the health care service needs of the State's LGBTQI community. It is sponsored by Vin Gopal.
